Oldham is a post-industrial town in the north east of Greater Manchester. It was once the cotton spinning capital of the world, with more mills, pubs and millionaires per square mile than anywhere else. 

 

Its history and heritage are rich, its alumni world known and yet its reputation is that of a deprived and miserable place. We know that’s some people’s experience, but it's not the whole story, so we’re here to change that narrative. 

 

The project started as an idea for a podcast but it was soon evident that was insufficient to tell the story properly. We are  constantly inspired by the people we meet, those who serve others, who create and motivate, who lead and who struggle.

 

We share a vision of a creative, vibrant and thriving Greater Manchester town and want to promote the amazing people, businesses and organisations who live and work here.

 

Oldham is on the up, it’s future is bright and Oldham TV is going to be at the heart of it.
